Preheat your skillet or frying pan to a high temperature. Prepare your mince by forming mince balls of about 150gms each, sprinkling salt, pepper and chosen seasoning on ONE SIDE of the ball to make 4 “burger balls”.
Slice your doughnut in half and grill bread side down until browned. Cook your bacon.
To make a smash burger you need to place your burger ball on the heat and push it down really hard so that the fat crisps up the mince. Cook until the juices start to come out of the top of the pattie then flip and continue to cook. Place a slice of cheese onto of the patty and cover the pan until the cheese has melted. It can help to add some water to the pan, creating steam.
To make the burger, place the cut side of half of the donut on your serving plate (icing side down or up - your choice). Layer the patty with melted cheese and the bacon, then top it with the doughnut, icing side down on top if you don’t want sticky fingers. Eat and enjoy!
