Southern Style Chicken

During the 1970’s Japan didn’t have a specific Christmas tradition however a popular fried chicken fast food conducted an amazing marketing plan to encourage Japan to purchase their product to celebrate Christmas. And the tradition still survives so much so that most people have to prebook their chicken so as not to miss out. Luckily for us, we have Mrs Roger’s Southern Style Chicken Coating so that we will never miss out!

 2kg Chicken Pieces
 1/2 cup Milk
 1/2 cup Plain Yoghurt
 2 Eggs
 1 packet Mrs Rogers Southern Style Chicken Coating
 Drizzle of oil

Mix the milk and yoghurt together and marinade the chicken pieces for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray.

Empty the packet of the Southern Style Chicken Coating into a dish. Mix the eggs with a little water in another dish. With each piece of chicken, remove from the milk and yoghurt mixture and dip into the egg wash. The dip into the coating and place on the tray. Continue with all the pieces.

Bake for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the coating is golden.

NOTE: You can deep or shallow fry instead of baking if you wish.
