Mac and Cheese

Yields1 Serving

Something that everyone eats? Mac and Cheese of course. And we are going to tell you our secret to the winning recipe.....Mrs Rogers Chicken Seasoning (http://bit.ly/mrsrogers_chickenseasoning). This adds that extra special taste that no one will pick, but that everyone will love! And if you want a really crisp topping, try sprinkling the top of your Mac and Cheese with Mrs Rogers Garlic and Italian Herb Crusting Crumbs and grilling it until it's nice and golden. YUM!

 44 g Macaroni
 1 small Onion, finely diced
 50 g Butter or 2 Tbsp Oil
 2 tbsp Plain Flour
 2 Milk
1 cup diced or grated Tasty Cheese
1 tsp Mrs Rogers Chicken Seasoning
1 tsp Mrs Rogers Fine Pink Himalayan Salt
1 tsp Mrs Rogers Gourmet Peppercorns Medium Grinder
1

In a large pot, bring to boil enough water to cover the macaroni twice. In another pot, add the butter or oil and diced onion and fry until the onion goes transparent.

2

Once the pot of water is boiling, cook the macaroni according to the packet. Drain and set aside.

3

Once the onion is cooked, remove the pot from the heat and stir in the flour until a paste forms. Add half of the milk and stir until the flour is combined. Return to the heat. Keep stirring until the sauce starts to thicken. Add half of the milk that’s left and continue to stir, adding the milk until the flour is cooked and the sauce is glossy but thick. Add the chicken seasoning and cracked pepper. Add the cheese and stir to combine until the cheese has melted. Taste. Add the salt if your taste buds would like it (I always do!).

4

Pour the cheese sauce over the pasta and stir to combine. If you aren’t ready to serve, cover with tinfoil and put in the oven to keep warm.
