A spice mix commonly used as a base to curries with the addition of other spices & flavours for different dishes.

Certified organic by BioGro NZ. Translates to ‘Warming Spice’ and is a traditional spice mix at the heart of most Indian dishes. tomato-based, hearty lamb & beef dishes, curries & adds depth to soups & stews. Also makes a good flavouring for spiced bean or lentil soups.

Suggested Uses

  • The base spice mix of most Indian curries, to which other spices are added to individualise a dish.
  • Combine with unsweetened yoghurt, grated fresh ginger, crushed garlic and lemon juice for tandoori chicken marinade.
  • Can be used in place of mixed spice in sweet baking for a different flavour.
