Whole spices retain better flavour than ground. Store in the closed ziplock bag until needed and grind using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle.
The VarietyCaraway is also known as Persian cumin. Caraway seeds are actually the fruit of Carum carvi, in the same family as carrot, cumin, coriander, celery & parsley, native to Central Europe.
